Metamorphosis

Six diptychs. On the left a piece of fruit, whole and fresh. On the right the same piece after it has dried — same light, same distance, same frame. Nothing moves between the two images except time.

About this series

Metamorphosis follows a single rule: photograph an object, wait, then photograph it again under identical conditions. What separates the two frames is time — water leaving the fruit, colour turning inward, a round form collapsing into something denser and stranger than it began.

The pair is shown as one picture rather than as before and after. Read from left to right it looks like loss; read from right to left, like a form finding its structure. Each diptych is available as an archival pigment print on Hahnemühle paper in a small, numbered edition.
